Mr Davies' NHS service is based at the Kingston Hospital Breast Unit where he works in close conjunction with Mr Richard Cummins. The Sir William Rous Cancer Unit provides state of the art diagnostic, imaging and counseling facilities to breast patients.
The Kingston Hospital Breast Unit offers two rapid diagnostic breast clinics at two sites (Kingston and Roehampton Hospitals). These are run on a Monday morning (Roehampton) and a Friday morning (Kingston).
For private patients The Breast Clinic is based at 67 Harley Street and at the new Victoria Hospital in Coombe Lane, Surrey.
You will be fully assessed by Mr Davies in the Sir William Rous Unit. The assessment will include a history of your problem and a breast and general examination as required. Depending on his findings, you may be simply reassured or undergo investigations. These may include a mammogram, ultrasound and a biopsy (please see the patient information section for details of these investigations). In virtually all cases, the results of the investigations will be discussed with you the same day. All patients have access to our specialist breast cancer nurses who will provide you with support, information and their contact details.
If a diagnosis of cancer is made, a specific appointment will be made with our specialist nurses to discuss all the options and choices you may face. If surgery is planned a dedicated appointment will be made to discuss breast reconstruction and planning if appropriate.
For private patients a twice weekly rapid diagnostic clinic (Monday AM, New Victoria Hospital, Wednesday AM, 67 Harley Street) provides all private patients the convenience and flexibility of rapid access to breast assessment in comfortable, convenient and relaxing surroundings.
